Orchestra Hotels + Resorts was founded in 2013 with a vision to make the luxury hospitality experience more meaningful and authentic. The group is led by a team of two industry veterans with impressive backgrounds. Andreas Ioannou is a respected hotelier with more than 25 years of experience with Hilton Hotels Corporation. Jose Luis Zapata is a proven developer with more than a decade of results in high-end residential properties such as The Grand Venetian on Miami Beach, the Harbour Center in Aventura, and others. Both men have cultivated a successful track record of profitability and growth through their well-planned strategies and proven business disciplines.

 

Jose Luis Zapata
founder + chairman

Since 2014,  Zapata has served as the lead director of the company, overseeing the long-range strategies for future developments and asset investments. Mr. Zapata was born in Mexico and received a degree in Business Administration from Universidad Anahuac in 1985. He started his professional development in Grupo Zapata, a third-generation family business with twenty-one manufacturing plants whose core operations include production of aluminum, tin sheet, and plastic containers.

In 2003, Mr. Zapata diversified his interests within the real estate market with the construction of the Grand Venetian in Miami Beach, a 132-unit luxury condominium; and developed the Harbour Center, a Class “A” office building with 226,000 square feet of leasable space. In 2006, Mr. Zapata completed the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, a condominium-hotel; which has consistently ranked among the top performing properties in the Hilton brand, receiving multiple awards, including Hilton Worldwide most prestigious honor, the Area President’s Award for three consecutive years. In 2017 the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach became the latest development project that Mr. Zapata completed; this is a residential and condo hotel luxury project designed to lead the area market.

Andreas Ioannou
founder + chief executive officer

Ioannou serves as the primary operations officer of the company, and oversees all operational functions and financial duties. Ioannou held several executive management positions within Hilton Hotels Corporation over a span of 25 years including flagship properties like the  Fontainebleau Hilton Resort + Towers, the Waldorf Astoria in New York and the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort.

Ioannou received both his MBA and his Bachelor of Science degree in hotel, restaurant and tourism administration at the University of New Orleans, Louisiana. Ioannou serves on several board including Broward Workshop, Tourism Development Council, and is Chairman of the Marketing Advisory Committee. He has also served as President for the Florida Restaurant + Lodging Association, 2012 Chairman for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, Council of Economic Advisors and as Executive in Residence for Johnson + Wales University.

sergio a. pagliery
executive vice president + general counsel

Pagliery oversees all aspects of Orchestra’s legal affairs since 2014. He is also responsible for corporate activities in real estate acquisitions and development, risk management, and execution of strategies. Mr. Pagliery received an honorable discharge with commendations from the United States Air Force in 1988 and then a baccalaureate degree from Florida International University in 1991. He received a J.D. degree magna cum laude from St. Thomas University School of Law in 1994.

Kamil Kelpetin
vice president of finance

Kelpetin serves as the primary financial officer of the company since 2017 with emphasis on investment strategies, asset growth, asset management and corporate finance. A financial officer of Marriott Corporation for 10 years, Kelpetin’s hospitality experience covered assignments ranging from Director of Finance + Accounting (Detroit, Chicago, Coralville, Miami, Ft Lauderdale), Market Controller in Europe (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) to Regional Manager of Internal Controls for Central/Western Europe based in Paris and Frankfurt. Other posts include Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and Kimpton Hotel + Restaurant Groups as a Cluster Director of Finance + Accounting.

He received his degree in Economics at Cuno College in Hagen, Germany. Further post-graduate degrees include an honors degree in Finance at Michigan State University, executive certification in Asset and Revenue Management at Cornell University and a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development from Florida International University. Kelpetin speaks three languages, English, German and Turkish.
